Welcome to SCC Moodle Support
Below is information that explains how to
access Moodle via The Hub from off-campus locations:
Logging in to Moodle for the very first time? See below image
for an important log in step.
If you are a returning student who recently reset your password, you may
see the following message instead. Click the link to re-enter your
SCC username and password to match The Hub site with Moodle.
If you are having trouble accessing The Hub, you can try to access
Moodle directly via the following link:
However, please let the helpdesk know that you are having Hub login
problems, so that we can resolve the issue.
You MUST have a stable internet connection in order to
maintain your connection to the Moodle site. Do NOT rely on
cellular-provided internet service or a mobile hotspot as your only
Internet source. Cellular internet service does not typically
maintain a stable enough connection for Moodle access. Do not plan to
use a phone or tablet device as your only method of completing your
Recommended software/Web Browsers for Moodle:
- The recommended web browser
for Moodle is Firefox for both a Windows and Mac platform. You can also
use Internet Explorer 9/10 or Chrome. IE 8 and Safari are not recommended.
Note: Windows XP is too old of an operating
system to upgrade to Internet Explorer 9; therefore, it is not
recommended for online courses at SCC. Please plan to
upgrade your computer/software before continuing in an online
course. Students are responsible for having up-to-date
computers and software for full compatibility in an online course.
- Links are provided
on the Downloads tab to download Firefox, IE,
- Also refer to more detailed information on our
Software Help - Browsers page
- Each Friday
morning from approximately 5 a.m. - 7 a.m., SCC's portal (The Hub)
and online SCC Moodle courses may be unavailable due to server maintenance.
- Be sure to avoid working in your online course(s) during this time.
Sharing a computer with another student?
- If you share a home computer with someone, be sure to use the
log out link for Moodle in the top-right corner of the page instead
of just clicking the X to close the window. Just clicking the X may
leave the previous person logged in when the next person tries to
access the site via The Hub.
- If you have problems, be sure to clear your cache and cookies
from your browser (Tools menu and Internet Options in IE; Firefox,
Clear Recent History in Firefox).
